I agree with most reviewers that this might be blasphemy for hardcore Gabaldon fans. Five out of five stars and I can wait to get my hands on the next book. There's an early diatribe about the preciousness of IPA beer, he goes really off the handle when he talks about the beer and somehow wriggles in visions of wolves and orgies as he sips from IPA beer from his CamelBak. This book is a favorite for me and my 3 year old son. It is is pretty much the same thing. Was exactly what I was looking for. A tale that examines the step-by-step process of how apples grow and are later turned into pies, it effectively conveys seasons, growth cycles, and (literally) the birds and the bees.The heroine of this story and her baby sister show the viewer the process that goes into making apple pie. In "The Best Option Strategies" chapter, I found what he'd done is called a Covered Write. Thus penance becomes a easily assimilated doctrine, not a gaseous cloud of ideas, and something indisipensible to any twelfth-century reader striving for holiness.. One of the best book purchases I have ever made, and I plan to buy extra copies for Christmas gifts..
