There may be far more there than you now realize.. Though Young-Bruehl is very clear, the frameworks Arendt proposes will stretch your mind.Highly recommended.. I had Hannah Arendt for classes in grad school in the early 1970s. As a refugee from Nazi terror who fled to America (by way of Paris and the Gurs internment camp) in 1941, she knew whereof she spoke."Balint is however troubled by Bruehl- Young's effort to apply Arendt's ideas to the American political situation today. For instance, apparently he could be something of a bully to his workers and he was often a relentless ad hominem attacker of ideological opponents in the internecine quarrels among activists on the left. Henry is a Great American! There are many reasons to read this book. Very highly recommended.. You won't regret it. First read it in high school. From an early age Henry "Rocky" Colavita dreamed of becoming an Army officer. Army, including multiple tours in Vietnam, and his subsequent 17 year career in law enforcement. His engaging, often funny memoir covers the author's 20 year career in the U.S. He returned home, age 28, and continued his military career--including a stint at The Pentagon and in Berlin, eventually retiring in 1983 and beginning his second career--in law enforcement.. He eventually did both. The perfect situation for him to develop an affinity for service, both military and public. And a policeman. But his next door neighbor was a cop. Wounded in Vietnam on his first tour, he returned for a second tour, this time as Infantry captain in command.
