It was worth every penny spent on both. The fact hat he had survived in such a harsh environment was similar to that of a black man. Although it could have been paced better in the middle of the book, overall the characters and worldbuilding make this worth a read. Other DIY methods are mentioned in passing and rejected as being flawed. To all that don't know what the apocrypha is, it is books that were took out of the bible.
