Petersburg (Fla) Times, the Washington Post, and the Washington Monthly magazine. From 1995-1996 he was Time magazine's chief financial columnist
. As a writer he has published in numerous national magazines such as Esquire, the New Republic, Harper's, and the New York Times magazine, to name a few. He has held editorial positions with the New York Times, the St. JOHN ROTHCHILD, a Yale graduate and Fulbright Scholar, is a well-known writer and editor. The most astute of these Debtor Barons was Robert Campeau, a Canadian real estate developer, who became a primordial force in the American retail industry. This enticing but sobering book is fascinating reading for anyone who ever had a credit card or applied for a loan. From the Publisher John Rothchild vividly portrays the era of the Debtor Barons, the 1980s, when a new breed of undaunted entrepreneurs made untold millions buying companies with virtually no money out of their own pocketsIt would be far simlier and less daunting to see a simple equation in the text and later come across a more inclusive one. Rented this book for the semester and am in love with the fact that I didn't have to buy it a full price and wonder what to do with it after my class ended. It's clear, unpretentious and has a surprising amount of drama to it.Many people now try to adapt some kind of mindfulness a la John Kabat-Zinn to a variety of needs for people to overcome this or that disorder, pain, etc. It is excellent for the medievalist, the enthusiast of mnemonics, historians of thought, and those simply interested in how well people can actually think and remember and how to go about training themselves to do so. Coincidence, perhaps fate, abounds in his lifetime, and he attends the funeral of his first wife, Penelope, with his wife, Penny (for Penelope), surrounded by children of the first marriage and his teenaged daughter from the later union. I'd immediately recommend this text book to anyone who's interested in learning physics and likes some of the more interesting math involved (or perhaps the Algebra/Trig one if they don't), as it's far better than the text we're using in class (don't have it on me at the moment). Overall, an excellent and must read eBook for todThe escapades of such Debtor Barons as Robert Campeau are depicted against the backdrop of national ardor for acquiring debt that characterized the 1980s.- Title : Going for Broke: How Robert Campeau Bankrupted the Retail Industry, Jolted the Junk Bond Market, and Brought the Booming 80s to a Crash
